Dhanush starrer Asuran is going to be remade in Telugu with Venkatesh Daggubati and he will reprise Dhanush’ role from the original. Suresh Babu has already announced that Srikanth Addala, who is known for films like Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Brahmotsavam, will helm this remake in which Venkatesh will play the lead role. Asuran remake will be bankrolled by Suresh Babu and the original producer Kalaipuli S Thanu under Suresh Productions and V Creations, respectively. Now according to the latest update, the makers of Asuran remake are planning to make the movie on the budget of Rs 13 Cr.
After a long gap Srikanth Addala is making his comeback in the film industry with this remake. Apparently, Suresh Babu has asked Srikanth Addala to wrap up the entire film – Asuran remake within Rs 13 Cr budget. For Venkatesh Daggubati starrer Srikanth Addala will get the monthly salary of Rs 2 lakhs whereas Venakatesh will work without remuneration.
The sources say that Venkatesh will not be charging any remuneration to act in Asuran remake but he will be taking his share from the profits. The rest of the cast and crew of this upcoming film are yet to be officially announced, but and the latest buzz is that actress Shriya Saran is likely to reprise Manju Warrier’s role.
Asuran is a revenge drama that traces the fight of an oppressed community against those oppressing them is based on Tamil novel Vekkai penned by Poomani. The movie featured Dhanush in dual roles, playing his character over two generations.
Meanwhile, Venkatesh Dagguvati is waiting for the release of his upcoming multistarrer film Venky Mama, which also stars Akkineni Naga Chaitanya. The film is directed by KS Ravindra alias Bobby and is bankrolled jointly by Suresh Productions and Blue Planet Entertainment. Venky Mama is tipped to be a romantic comedy and it also stars Raashi Khanna and Payal Rajput.
