Gone are the days, where remaking a film is so easy. In the past, heroes prefer to do remakes as the story is already accepted in another language and all they have to do is making simple changes to suit our nativity and go for the shoot. Those days the audience didn’t have too much exposure to world cinema. Leave world cinema aside, they didn’t even have access to other south Indian language films as well. With no exposure sometimes, they don’t know it is a remake. Even if it is a remake they don’t have any access to watch the original movie. So audiences have to watch the remake film. With no expectations, while they watch the movie, it turns out to be a successful venture.
Now, remaking a movie is a very tuff job. Access to world cinema is very easy and at the end of your fingertips. With digital streaming sites in full swing, super hit movies in other languages are being watched by many audiences. With the announcement of remaking a movie, audiences search for the original in these sites and watch them before they can even go for the shoot. Whilst the movie releasing, most of the audiences already watched the original, started to compare. Word of mouth will not be super positive, which in turn affects the movie revenue.
Coming to the actual point, Venkatesh has now decided to remake Dhanush starrer Asuran. The original movie is now available in Amazon Prime. All the Telugu enthusiastic audiences have already watched the film and are praising the movie’s direction and Dhanush’s acting skills. There is a lot of talking about the film on social media. After praising the film, one doubt that came into everyone’s mind is, can Venkatesh match the raw and intense performance of Dhanush? Can he manage to bring out the rustic side of him?
