Kacheguda Train Accident: Two trains collided at the Kacheguda station in Hyderabad, Telangana today on Monday. According to South Central Railway officials, one was an Intercity Express train while the other was an MMTS train. The incident occurred when an MMTS train and an express train had a head-on collision between Kacheguda- Malakpet railway stations in Hyderabad. Twelve passengers suffered injuries, including the driver of one of the trains and have been rushed to nearby hospitals. Kacheguda railway station is one of the three central stations in Hyderabad, Telangana. No deaths have been reported by the railway department so far.

The railway sources said the incident involved Lingampalli-Falaknuma Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) local train and another train. MMTS train, a local train service, and Kurnool City-Secunderabad Hundry Intercity-Express collided with each other near Nimboli Adda. The sources say that the Lingampalli-Falaknuma Multi-Modal Transport System local train and Intercity Express were moving slowly when this accident took place. The accident took place on the Secunderabad-Falaknuma section of the South Central Railway zone on Monday afternoon. All the injured passengers have been admitted to Osmania General Hospital.

Few are saying that the accident occurred due to signaling fault. Several train services on the line were badly hit due to the mishap. The railway authorities are in the process of rescheduling some trains on the route and are removing the bogies from the track.

The collision involved three coaches of a local Hyderabad Mult-Modal Transport System train and four coaches of the Hundri Intercity coming from Kurnool.

The several train services on the line were badly hit due to this incident. The Police personnel and other railway staff are at the stop and administering first aid to the injured and shifting them to the nearby hospital. An inquiry into the accident has been ordered by the South Central Railway.
